454-4-1 Fuel Tank Coating

Akzo Nobel 454-4-1 Fuel Tank Coating is a two-component, chemically cured, yellow epoxy coating.  This Integral Fuel Tank Coating provides protection from various chemicals, hydraulic fluids, aviation fuels, phosphate ester (Skydrol) fluids, and corrosion causing media for aircraft fuel tanks.

Compliant to VOC requirements for SCAQMD Rule 1124

Components:  Base Component 454-4-1/ Curing Solution CA-109
Thinner TL-52 sold separately.

Instruction for Use:
Conventional Mixing Ratio (volume)
3 parts Base 454-4-1 : 1 part Curing Solution CA-109
0 – 0.25 part Thinner TL-52 (optional)
-Stir or shake base to uniformly dispersed pigment, then add curing solution
-Stir the catalyzed mixture thoroughly
-Thinner – not required.

Induction Time: 60 minutes* (*times can vary by process specification used – please refer to process specification you are following for required induction).

Pot Life: 8 hours

Note: The quality of the application of all coatings will be influenced by the spray equipment chosen and the temperature, humidity, and air flow of the paint application area. Prior to applying the product, it is recommended to prepare test panels to identify the best equipment settings for optimized performance and appearance.
